John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete Hann, Kate Lawrence, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Cooler again, 15°C, and a breeze today but still sunny so pleasant working on surface. Adrian and Kate to the bottom with capping kit. After a while Adrian said there was more rock than Pete would need so we started hauling it out. After 27 loads Adrian and Kate came out and Pete went down. One mix of cement split over two buckets sent down and used building up the South end wall. On his exit a couple of rocks were added to the step underneath the top ladder. 2 hours. John.

Saturday 6th August 2025

John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete Hann, Kate Lawrence, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Cooler, 22°C, and a breeze today but still sunny so warm working on surface. Once bottom ladder installed John went down and spent 15 minutes with crowbar prying loose rocks off the wall. He then came up and Adrian and Pete went down with capping kit. Bottom ladder then removed and buckets of rocks were hauled up. After a while cement was sent down for Pete to use walling whilst Adrian continued capping. Some rather large rocks were found. Kate went and found a large sledge-hammer. One mix of cement split over two buckets used , 23 loads of rock and 1 load of mud hauled out. Still loads of rock to come out. Bottom ladder reinstalled to let Adrian and Pete exit. 3 hours. John.

Tuesday 2nd September 2025

John Cooper, Kate Lawrence, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Kate went down to collect the toad and a frog and took them away for rehoming. John then descended and drilled a line of 6 holes in the shelf, 10mm diameter x 800mm deep. Packed away drill just as Adrian and Jude arrived. Adrian charged the holes with 6m of 12gm cord, topped up with water for stemming, then went to look at the bottom before coming out. The bottom ladder was then removed before the holes were destroyed. Adrian might need his capping kit on Saturday! Heavy showers again today! 2 hours. John.
